Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A Paisley dad who has called for a change to the rules around nursery places in Renfrewshire is one step closer to winning his fight after councillors showed unanimous support for his petition.Steven Harrigan became annoyed with the policy after his son Zach failed to secure a place at Ralston Primary School's nursery class when he lives just a few hundred yards away in Penilee Road.He then found out children living further afield in areas such as Gallowhill and Hawkhead were being handed spots over kids living in the immediate area.Mr Harrigan was worried Zach may end up not getting a place at Ralston Primary and would miss out on building up.
