During a terrifying ordeal a man had to jump for his life out of a window as Bahaa Kadum tried to batter down a bedroom door to reach him with a kitchen knife.
After the man escaped to get help Kadum took his girlfriend hostage. He threatened to kill the woman and himself. The victims were in bed when they were awoken at 3am at their home in Apsley Place, Ashton-under-Lyne, hearing someone climbing the stairs.
