Coronavirus: Three pensioners say they’ll move in together and ‘drink cheap wine’

Three elderly best friends say they’re planning to endure the coronavirus pandemic by moving in together. Pensioners Doreen, Dotty and Carol have told BBC Breakfast they’ll embrace self-isolation and get through it by drinking cheap white wine and binge-watching The Crown.

People aged over 70 are expected to be told by the government this weekend to self-isolate for up to three months, to protect them from COVID-19.

More than 100 people have now died from the flu-like virus in the UK, which is particularly dangerous for the elderly. The trio, all from the north of England, can’t bear the idea of self-isolating alone so to avoid getting lonely they will live together.
