An investigation has been launched at a Covid testing centre after a member of staff was suspended when he was exposed as a paedophile.
The 26-year-old worked at the Durham site for about a month before he appeared in court and was handed down a community order for attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex.
He has been suspended by Sodexo, the firm in charge of the site, who have promised to look into the issue. But ex-forces man Nigel Towler, a former worker at the site who recently left, says he is furious checks were not made before the paedophile started.
The 57-year-old, who served with the RAF in the Falklands, said: "I'm shocked, frustrated and angered by this. "I'm furious.
