Coronation Street is set to tackle everyday racism in a storyline which was initially intended to air on April 22, Stephen Lawrence Day, but will air this coming week due to the rationing of episodes because of the coronavirus lockdown.
Regardless, the episode will draw attention to important real life issues and the cast and crew met with Stephen Lawrence's mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, who gave input and watched key scenes being filmed.
The storyline will circle on the Bailey family and their work on the Bistro, dealing with the new manager Don and his racism towards them.
