Bridge of Allan residents and businesses have hit out at proposals which suggest closing the town’s railway station.Stirling Council has made the suggestion on its engagement platform Engage Stirling and feasibility studies are to be carried out.It involves closing the existing station in the west of the town and its replacement with a new station to the south between Bridge of Allan, Causewayhead and Cornton.A second option of keeping Bridge of Allan station along with a new station to the south will also be examined.Douglas Ross of the town’s Allanwater Brewery this week described any closure of Bridge of Allan railway station as “nonsensical”.He added: “At a time of world crisis where climate change is top of all our lists, we are
