Kilmarnock shoppers have reported 'horrendous' gridlock this afternoon as locals prepare for Christmas. One woman was trapped in Aldi's car park for more than an hour with traffic at a complete standstill. The eye-witness said: "Today has been absolutely horrendous."It sounds like an exaggeration to say i've been stuck in this car park for an hour but i've checked by receipt from the shop and it's actually been more than an hour."The whole town is gridlocked with folk going out for their Christmas shopping."It doesn't help that people can't follow the signs on the road - drivers are going down bits of the car park that are one-way."It's also been reported that traffic had to be directed at other supermarkets in the town amid the surge of shoppers flocking to stock up for the festive season. With two shopping days left until Christmas, it's anticipated that pressure on the local roads network will be sustained this weekend.
