It was hard not to imagine what could have been for Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United when watching him last season. Lukaku was in scintillating form for Inter Milan and he was thriving under Antonio Conte.
Lukaku scored 30 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions - Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo were the only other centre-forwards in the world operating at that level - and he almost single-handedly propelled Inter to the Serie A title, ending the club's 11-year wait.
When Lukaku swapped Goodison Park for Old Trafford in 2017, it was hoped that his goals would help end the Reds' wait for the Premier League title, but it wouldn't work out for Lukaku in Manchester.
