Carer's Allowance is a payment for people who spend at least 35 hours a week providing regular care to someone who has a disability.
You don’t have to be related to, or live with, the person you care for to qualify for Carer’s Allowance. But, the person you care for must be receiving certain benefits because of their disability, which in some cases has to be paid at a certain rate.Carer's Allowance is paid at £67.25 a week and you can choose to be paid weekly in advance or every four weeks.
If you’ve been caring for someone as a result of the coronavirus lockdown, you can backdate your claim for Carer’s Allowance by up to three months.
