Greggs in Cambuslang donated a haul of food items to St Bride’s Church in Cambuslang.The kind-hearted gesture meant that the church could donate the bread, rolls, biscuits and cakes to those who are struggling during the current Covid-19 pandemic.On Wednesday, Greggs reached out to the church as they were closing their doors to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Father Paul Morton told the Reformer : “Greggs called because they were shutting down in 30 minutes and they had pallets that would have gone to waste. “We put it out on Facebook that we had food that people might be able to use.“We had calls from all over Lanarkshire and Glasgow.”Father Morton is delighted that they were in the position to help and praised the community
