BTS ‘condemn violence’ as they join MONSTA X and ATEEZ in voicing support for Black Lives Matter

BTS, MONSTA X and ATEEZ are the latest K-pop stars to voice their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Protests have been sparked across America after the death of George Floyd, a black man who died in Minnesota after white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.

In a statement released on Thursday, BTS – made up of RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga and J-hope – said they ‘condemn violence’ and ‘we all have the right to be respected’.

The group’s official Twitter account posted in Korean and English: ‘We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence.
