La Liga have raised Barcelona's spending limit by £700million, ending a period of being in a spending deficit despite already splashing the cash.

The Blaugrana have managed to clear up their financial woes after selling huge chunks of assets at the club to various companies.

Barca were given a cap of £84m last year which forced them to make savings in the squad, running up debts of €1.35billion.To come within La Liga's financial fair play rules, Barcelona sold 25 per cent of their domestic television rights to Sixth Street, an investment firm from the United States.

That saw the club make €500m while a further €200m was made from the sale of a 49 per cent stake in Barca Studios.
