Brits may be given coronavirus 'risk scores' as UK lockdown eases, scientist says

People could be given Covid risk scores to determine how much they should move around as the country eases out of lockdown, a scientist has said.

A more subtle approach will be needed going forward as restrictions are eased, Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter said. Scores could take into account factors such as age, gender, ethnicity and health conditions, he said.

Sir David, who is chairman of the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication at the University of Cambridge, said groups could be broken up into “more finely grained strata covering the whole range of risk”.
