Cyprus could be welcoming back Brits as early as July with the island also announcing they will pay for your holiday if you catch coronavirus there.

If cases in the UK remain low, holidaymakers will be allowed to travel, reports The Sun Online. The island has one of the lowest number of cases in Europe at 993, with 17 deaths since closing their borders early.

In comparison, the UK has the highest with more than 37,000 deaths. The Cypriot government rolled out a strict lockdown policy on March 21.

Residents were only able to go outside if they were permit holders. Those caught flouting the rules were fined €300 (around £260).
