The findings come after a survey of more than 3,000 members of the British public delved into how people dispose of their unwanted goods.
The research commissioned by Shift.Online, also looked at which items Brits throw away the most, as well as the weirdest items they had dumped at the tip.
They found that bikes, wardrobes and fridges were the most common items dumped at the local tip, while a mother’s ashes, a briefcase full of sex toys and a portaloo were revealed as the weirdest items ever taken.The survey asked members of the public to estimate what they’d taken to the tip in the last three years, and found.
