Boris Johnson is on the brink of finally striking a post-Brexit trade deal after weeks of dashed hopes and missed deadlines.
The UK negotiating team spent the evening poring over the draft legal text with their Brussels counterparts before signing off the agreement.
But Government sources said that - barring any last-minute hiccups - the deal was done and was “highly unlikely” to fall apart.
One minister told ITV: “Deal is done but folk going through with fine toothcomb, checking nitty gritty and that nothing has been slipped through inadvertently”.
