The brave policeman who rugby tackled the Reading terrorist suspect Khairi Saadallah is a rookie who has only been in his job for just 14 months, according to a new report.

The dad-of-two, who police are not naming, has been heralded for 'preventing many more people dying' in the terror attack that killed three people and left three injured.

The unarmed police officer chased the suspect after Joe Ritchie-Bennett, 39, James Furlong, 36, and David Wails were stabbed to death in a park in Forbury Gardens, Reading, Berkshire, on Saturday at around 7pm.

The three others who were injured in the mass stabbings have been released from hospital. Saadallah was arrested on suspicion of murder and then re-arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism
