mirror.co.ukA young boy has died after a granite table fell and struck his head during a wedding reception, police have said. Luca Berlingerio, aged five, was rushed to hospital following the freak incident at The Drake Hotel in Oakbrook, Chicago, last Friday night.
An ER doctor, also in attendance at the wedding, initially gave him CPR. Emergency operators were called at around 10pm, with the child said to be unresponsive before he was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Luca, from Glenview, was pronounced dead from a traumatic head injury. After reviewing video footage, Oakbrook police have said the child was lying on the table top before gripping at the edge as he started to slip off, causing it to flip over and land on his head, reports WGN.
