Bournemouth beach was a very different picture today than 24 hours ago as the masses finally heeded the warnings to stay away.
Local families and young children had plenty of space to spread out on the sand compared to the chaotic scenes from yesterday when the beach was rammed.
It was possible to take a comfortable stroll along the promenade without worrying about social distancing. Ice-cream kiosk workers were left twiddling their thumbs as there were barely any customers to serve.
The slightly overcast weather has also helped keep the hordes of day-trippers away. Roads which were gridlocked yesterday had a steady flow of traffic today and there were plenty of parking spaces available in the resort's car parks.
