Claims Boris Johnson said he'd rather see "bodies piled high" than a second lockdown last year have been branded "comedy gossip" by the government.
Explosive claims emerged today that the PM said: “No more ****ing lockdowns - let the bodies pile high in their thousands!” - before the wave of disease forced him into a second lockdown in November.
But No10 denied the claims as "just another lie" - while Cabinet minister Ben Wallace compared the level of anonymous gossip to something in "Hello magazine".
The Defence Secretary told Sky News: “It’s not true, it’s been categorically denied by practically everyone. “We’re getting into the comedy chapter now of these gossip stories - unnamed sources by unnamed advisors talking about unnamed events.
