Boris Johnson is facing mounting demands for answers over the luxury revamp of his Downing Street flat. Stories have been dripping out for weeks over the spiralling costs of the project - dubbed the "cash for curtains" row.
Mr Johnson reportedly told aides that the costs were "out of control" and his fiancee Carrie Symonds was “buying gold wallpaper" for the flat above No11 Downing Street.
Prime Ministers are allowed to spend up to £30,000 of taxpayers' cash a year on doing up the official flat during their time in Downing Street.
But Mr Johnson has landed himself in hot water over the refurbishment of the residence he shares with Ms Symonds and their baby son Wilf.
