The world's oldest man who lived through two world wars has died aged 112. Bob Weighton died after a brave battle with cancer, his family have confirmed this afternoon.
Mr Weighton, who was born in 1908, had celebrated his birthday in March at home in Alton, Hampshire. He was born in Hull, East Yorkshire, lived through the Spanish flu, both world wars and 25 Summer Olympic Games.
Mr Weighton earned the Guinness World Record in March this year following the death of Japanese man Chitetsu Watanabe. He leaves behind three children, 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Mr Weighton celebrated his 112th birthday in March at the start of lockdown, although he had to do it alone due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
