Thrill seekers were forced to make a terrifying climb down the UK's tallest rollercoaster after it stopped on an ascent this afternoon.
Adrenaline junkies got more than they bargained for when the The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach stopped near the top. Park staff had to scale the rollercoaster before tentatively guiding nervous visitors to safety, Lancashire Live reported.
When the £12m ride, formerly known as the Pepsi Max, opened in 1994, it was the tallest and steepest roller coaster in the world.
It stands at 65m (213ft) tall, beating Stealth to be the country's highest by three metres. Were you one of the people evacuated?
