Britain's Got Talent viewers have slammed Simon Cowell after he praised supposed homegrown acts on the show - just hours after a US pro won a place in the semi-finals.Group Brit Kidz impressed the judges with a dance routine inspired by former BGT acts on Sunday's show.Simon then told his fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams: "I love that the acts are homegrown and they did something special for this show."But the comment didn't go down well with fans who took to social media to point out US singer Loren Allred had already been given a Golden Buzzer by Amanda during the opening show on Saturday evening. One said: "Simon - 'I love that the acts are all home grown'.
American professional singer gets golden buzzer."Another raged: "Simon: I like they are home grown and they did something specific for the show.
Literally 24 hours ago they put through an American professional singer who came here specifically for fame and fortune." A third wrote: "Huh, Simon says he likes a home grown talent but yesterday put through an American with a successful career and plenty of exposure already?!""Simon, who was the golden buzzer act last night?" a fourth sarcastically asked.Other fans questioned why Loren, who wowed the crowd with a rendition of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman, was given a pass into the semi-final, as she is already famous. But show bosses have since defended Amanda's decision to put Loren into the next round.A spokesperson told Metro: "Whilst most people will have heard the infamous Greatest Showman track, Loren is not a household name, and she deserves her spot on the BGT stage."We hope that such articles will not count against somebody who is well-deserving of this opportunity.
