Beyoncé has used her 39th birthday to announce she is to donate $1 million (£753,000) to Black-owned businesses.The Black Is King star revealed her news on her official website today.The note on behalf of the star’s BeyGOOD foundation reads: ‘proud to announce $1m in additional funds from Beyonce to help black-owned small businesses. ‘Round two of funding opens this month with out partner NAACP.’The news coincides with the star’s birthday, with mother Tina Knowles sharing a fan-made video tribute on Instagram to mark the day.The Formation singer previously gave £6 million to ‘communities of colour’ amidst the coronavirus pandemic.Speaking in a statement in April, a rep for Bey’s foundation BeyGOOD said: ‘Communities of colour are suffering.
