BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay has made it clear he's unimpressed with the Academy Awards after a monumental moment saw Will Smith storm the stage to smack Chris Rock across the face.
Presenting alongside his co-host Sally Nugent on Monday morning (March 28), Jon was chatting to Media and Arts Correspondent David Sillito about what went down on the Oscars stage last night.
And he didn't hesitate to slam the ceremony after what happened.Jon commented: "It is extraordinary. A ceremony which is normally so tightly controlled and so pre-prepared, and has been accused of being quite boring over the last few years..."All of a sudden this real, emotional, dramatic moment in front of millions!"David quickly agreed: "It is what has killed the Oscars, is that every joke has been rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed, until it isn't funny.
It's a long evening to get through, often, and you're waiting for occasionally a moment where something happens."And then this, which was just utterly inexplicable.
