Formula 1’s 2023 calendar is beginning to take shape after the date for the Australian Grand Prix was confirmed for the first weekend in April.The popular race around Melbourne’s Albert Park returned to the calendar earlier this season after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.
Having traditionally been the season opener since it first replaced Adelaide as the home of the Australian Grand Prix, it was the third race this year.
And that will remain the case for 2023 with the four-day event taking place from March 30 to April 2. Bahrain is likely to kick off the season again.
However, as part of its recently signed new contract with F1, Melbourne will host the season opener five times between now and 2035, including in 2024 and 2025.
