As military tensions continue to ratchet up in the world, Australia has unveiled its first new military combat aircraft in half a century.
The world is in a state of fear with China, North Korea and the US exchanging an increasingly aggressive war of words in the last few months.
Now, Australia has launched its own defence with the Loyal Wingman program, developed by Boeing Australia, which is much more than just another combat drone.
While current ones are remote-piloted by a controller on the ground, Loyal Wingman flies in support to crewed aircraft, using artificial intelligence to determine its own targets within parameters outlined by the pilot of the lead aircraft.
