Aswad lead singer Drummie Zeb dies aged 62 as tributes pour in for Don't Turn Around star

tribute: "It is with deepest regret and profound loss that we have to announce the passing of our brother Angus ‘Drummie’ Gaye."Drummie was the lead vocalist for the iconic band Aswad and is much loved and respected by both family, friends and peers alike." The bandmates stated that more information will be shared but they have asked that privacy is respected at the moment.

They added: "Drummie has left us to join our ancestors and leaves a huge void both personally and professionally."Aside from his career as a singer, he was also a record producer and led an incredible career from his early life after completing his education.

Tributes poured in from fans and friends online, including one from UB40's Ali Campbell who wrote: "Very sad to hear the passing of Aswads Drummie Zeb.

We've lost another UK Reggae pioneer. "Deepest condolences go out to all of the Aswad family. Big love." As fans flocked online, one user wrote: "It pains us to bring you the heartbreaking news that reggae legend, Drummie Zeb, has passed away. "Drummie was the leads singer of the iconic British reggae band Aswad and although he is no longer with us, the legacy he has left behind will always and forever live on."
