Ashley Young has opened up on his Manchester United exit and his new challenge with Inter Milan. Young could face his former club in next Friday's Europa League final, if United overcome Sevilla and Inter beat Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 35-year-old defender spent nine years at United and revealed he decided to leave in January after a frank conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “Obviously being in England all my life, it was a totally different change, but it was an experience that I jumped at,” said Young. “It was an opportunity for me to go and play regularly.

I spoke to Ole and he said that I wasn’t going to play as much as I wanted to. “When you’re coming towards the end of your career, you want to be playing as much as you can.
