Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao has penned an emotional message to the club after he was made redundant, following more than two decades of service.
As Head of International Scouting, Cagigao was instrumental in the recruitment of a number of Arsenal stars, including Cesc Fabregas, Hector Bellerin, Santi Cazorla and, most recently, Gabriel Martinelli.
However, Cagigao has been let go after the club made a significant number of staff redundant and completed a major overhaul in their recruitment strategy, which has also seen head of football Raul Sanllehi, head of UK scouting Peter Clark and former Reading boss Brian McDermott leave the club.
