Gabriel Martinelli is being primed for a bright future at Arsenal - but it remains unclear in what capacity. The Brazilian wonderkid burst onto the scene last season playing in various positions across the Gunners’ attack.
Despite seeing his season ended by a knee injury that will rule him out until 2021, he has penned a new five-year deal at the Emirates and is eyeing a long and successful career.
Back in March, manager Mikel Arteta outlined his vision for Martinelli as a centre-forward. “[Aubameyang and Martinelli] are centre forwards but with the squad balance that we have at the moment, to play on those positions on the left we don’t have five players,” the Spaniard said.
