Mesut Ozil has been the subject of constant speculation over his Arsenal future. The German has remained adamant he will see out his big-money £350,000-a-week contract, which expires next summer.
Whilst he might not move on this summer, manager Mikel Arteta has already been working on replacing the playmaker. And he has seemingly identified a possible long-term replacement close to home in the form of youth prospect Joe Willock.
Willock, signed by the club when he was just four and a half, has enjoyed his first team breakthrough this season. The 20-year-old featured regularly under predecessor Unai Emery, although he has found minutes harder to come by under Arteta since the reintroduction of Ozil into the starting line-up.
