The Catalans will now offload him permanently at the first opportunity having handed over £105m to secure his signature in 2018.
Bayern have no intention of signing him full time, especially given Barca’s determination to recoup all their cash. Liverpool, who were a whopping 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table before the season was suspended, are similarly uninterested in signing the midfielder who pushed for an Anfield exit two years ago.
