Arrests have been made after armed police this evening swooped on a Gloucester street following reports that men with machetes were spotted in the area by residents.
Gloucester police said they were alerted at about 6.30pm to claims that men armed with knives and other weapons had been seen in the Tredworth area.
A police spokesman said: "Just after 6.30pm tonight we received a call about a group of men in the Tredworth area of Gloucester carrying what was thought to be knives and other weapons. “Officers, including armed police, attended and four men were arrested in connection with this. “Police are still in the area while further equities are being carried out.” Gloucester Live said there was an ongoing police patrol in the area.
