But Carina Lepore is fulfilling her dream of taking on high street giant Greggs with her latest venture – a vegan sausage roll. “My vegan sausage roll tastes much better than Greggs,” she confidently claims. “One customer came in with a Greggs vegan sausage roll and I tried it.
It wasn’t even nice. My products are 100% better.” The sausage roll is just one product in the vegan range at Dough Artisan Bakehouse in Herne Hill, south London, which includes the sourdough loaf Carina baked in last year’s Apprentice final.
