ANTHEA Turner has revealed she was moments away from going blind after suffering a bizarre accident. The TV presenter was left needing emergency surgery after the incident in a hotel room while she was away for work.
Anthea, 61, recalled how she'd woken up and gone to open the shades when she received an unexpected blow to her left eye. Not realising the seriousness of the injury, which took place in September last year, Anthea waited a whole ten days before seeking advice from a specialist eye doctor.
She was then told she would need emergency surgery on her left retina. Anthea told The Mirror: "The specialist told me I was moments away from going blind and that was really scary. “I was away filming a TV show and staying in an old hotel where great big blinds covered enormous bedroom windows. “On each pull cord was a plastic ping pong ball-shaped toggle and one morning, as I pulled up the blind, I let go of the cord too quickly.
As the blind ricocheted up, the toggle hit me square in my left eye. @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:400;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:500;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The.
