Due to open next week, Mala is an open-air venue that's taken shape outside the Chapter One bookshop and cafe, on the corner of Dale Street and Lever Street.
The area, at one time a notorious drug den, has now been surrounded by hoardings and filled with twinkling fairy lights, cabins and greenery.
Work here actually started back in late autumn 2020, with ambitious plans to turn it into an outdoor venue inspired by Alpine villages.
