energy suppliers are still offering up the opportunity for those who need it to get £140 bumped off their energy bills, but customers must hurry because applications are closing soon.

The warm home discount aims to help families that are strapped for cash keep the heating on — but they only have so many spaces and a lot of them are filled already.

Working on a first-come-first-served basis, there is often a pot of money for the scheme that eventually runs out. Lots of big suppliers, such as EDF, Scottish Power and British Gas, have already seen their funding dry up - as have firms like Octopus, OVO and SSE.

Luckily for some though, there are still openings at a number of other providers but these could run out in a matter of days leaving anyone who didn't make the deadline to miss out on the extra £140.
