dailystar.co.ukAlison Hammond was left red-faced as she made a huge blunder live on air during the latest edition of This Morning.The 47-year-old presenter was back on our screens on Friday alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary.They kicked off the programme by chatting to nightclub owner Simon Jackson, who has sold dozens of souvenir chunks of sticky old carpet from The Acapulco in Halifax.The club, which claims to be the oldest in Britain, opened in 1961 and laid the colourful floor covering – which quickly become a local fixture itself – in 2003.At the start of the interview via video call, Alison told Simon that she could see the "old, sticky" carpet in the background.
However, Simon pointed out that the carpet in view was the in fact new carpet as the old carpet had already been taken up.Alison was left giggling at the "awks" moment and Dermot quickly stepped in to compliment the new flooring.Simon explained during the interview that the club had sold more than 100 pieces of its carpet for a good cause.“It’s gone really, really mental," said Simon."We thought we would be chucking most of it but we’ve had to pull some bits out of the skip, if I’m honest.
