This is the heartwarming moment a 102-year-old great gran was applauded as she left hospital after beating coronavirus. The video above shows Vera Beeley leaving Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where she spent a week being treated for Covid-19.

The retired cleaner, from Yorkshire, was diagnosed with the disease on Easter Monday after being admitted to hospital from her care home the previous day after complaining of a cough.

Vera, who has two children, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, was given the all-clear on Friday.
