An 18-year-old male has been stabbed to death in Liverpool. Merseyside Police has launched a murder investigation after the teen suffered stab wounds to the chest and later died in hospital.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to custody for questioning, police said. A heavy armed police presence swarmed the Merseyside town of Litherland, reports the Liverpool ECHO.

The death was confirmed today in an Easter Monday tragedy amid the nationwide coronavirus lockdown. Police and forensics officers were pictured focusing on an alleyway off Vincent Road.
