A man who drove an off-road bike with no brakes into a police car while breaking coronavirus lockdown rules has been jailed.

Craig Michael Thompson, 29, 'smelt of cannabis' and tested positive for cocaine after being stopped by officers on Easter Monday (April 13).

He was on bail at the time. Police were patrolling an area of Lower Broughton, Salford, at around 4pm when they say three men riding motorbikes.

Two were wearing balaclavas. Officers followed them to a petrol station, prosecutor Martha Dowd told Manchester Magistrates' Court.
