Prince William and Kate Middleton's recent tour reminded royals that "while they are well loved, not everyone loves them," according to a leading expert.
The Cambridges recently set off on a commonwealth tour across the Caribbean on behalf of Her Majesty. Beginning in Belize, the couple danced with residents and ate local cuisine, stopping next in Jamaica and finishing in The Bahamas.
But despite fun moments along the way, the Royal tour was doused in controversy and negative press. The couple had to change plans for their first stop of the tour due to villagers in Belize raising a number of objections including a proposed helicopter landing site.
The Duke and Duchess then faced another fury of protests when Jamaican activists told the Royal Family “we will not participate in your Platinum Jubilee celebration!”Royal expert Gertrude Daly, host of Gert's Royal podcast, believes that all royals know that not everyone loves them and that the tour has gone fairly well so far.
