Prince William and Kate Middleton have arrived at the Daystar Evangelical Church, which was damaged by Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane ravaged parts of the Bahamas in September 2019 and, over two years later, residents are still trying to rebuild their homes.
Aboco, a chain of islands that lie in the northern Bahamas, was one of the worst hit parts of the Bahamas, and was subjected to 185mph winds at the time of the hurricane.
75% of homes across the islands were damaged, and there was tragic loss of life. Arriving at the church on Saturday 26 March, Kate, 40, wore a pink print shirt dress, paired with strappy wedges. To complete the look, the mum-of-three wore her hair in her signature loose curls.
Meanwhile, William wore a blue open-collared shirt coupled with a navy blue suit. During their visit at the church, Kate and William met with people and families from across the community to heard first-hand what it was like to be on the island at the point the hurricane hit, and how people have come together to support each other during an incredibly difficult time. The royal couple then went on to visit a memorial to pay tribute to those who lost their lives as a result of the natural disaster.
