Connor Markward, 16, drowned after getting into difficulty in the water around 7pm on Friday, July 23. A major rescue mission was launched with coastguard, police and fire crews racing to at Balloch Castle Country Park.
Sadly the youngster could not be saved.Following the tragic news a warning has been issued of the "extreme dangers" of swimming in the loch.Gordon Watson, Chief Executive of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority, said: “On Friday evening our Ranger boat team took part in a multi-agency search operation on Loch Lomond led by Police Scotland following reports of someone in trouble in the water.
