A widower feared to have been killed in a botched burglary died of a head injury, a post mortem has found. Officers launched a murder probe after pensioner Dennis Kellond, 88, was found dead at his £700,000 bungalow in leafy Godstone, Surrey on Monday.
The death comes after the area was hit with a spate of garden burglaries in which thieves, wearing full PPE, were caught on CCTV.
Detectives have now been able to confirm Mr Kellond's cause of death was the result of a head injury. Neighbours, who described Mr Kellond as a "pleasant and smiley" person, have been left in a "state of shock" by the death.
