Because in some ways Sykes has always seemed like the archetypal so-called ‘cool girl’ – fun, funny, sexually attractive, comfortable with the male gaze.
She found fame as the plain-speaking, buxom ladette in a mid-’90s beer commercial, after all. And as she herself said on that podcast, ‘men talk to me in a really brazen way and they expect me to be able to deal with it’.
