direct to your inbox The UK Government has today announced its latest coronavirus tier allocations for local authorities across England.
Nearly all of the Tier 3 areas will remain at the current level of highest restrictions. But from Saturday, a large area of the east and south east of the country will now move to the most strict coronavirus measures.The new tier allocations mean as many as 38 million people will be living under the harshest level of restrictions - almost 70% of the entire population.Making a statement in the Commons on Thursday, he told MPs: “As we enter the coldest months we must be vigilant and keep this virus under control.”The cautious approach comes amid mounting concern about the prospect of a surge in cases.
