Emily in Paris is back with her berets and her ooh la las.Of course she is. The first season of EiP was a gargantuan hit, adored by millions for its ludicrous portrayal of Paris and Parisian style.
There’s really no reason for me to be so curmudgeonly about something that brings so many people so much pleasure.And yet. Although it was delivered unto to us by the creator of Sex and the City, Darren Starr, it is less clever, less witty and less authentic than that iconic show.
Yes, less authentic than a show whose central character was a freelance journalist who had somehow paid for a wardrobe most Oligarchs’ wives would kill for.Whoops.
